Arden Vul - Calendar (WIP!)
Calendar
The Imperial Archontean Calendar is a solar calendar, based on the old imperial calendar from thousands of years ago. The first month (Thoth) lines up roughly with September on Earth's Gregorian calendar.
Days of the Week
Basilday, Lunday, Totsday, Mitrasday, Tasday, Horaday, Demmasday
Seasons
Imperial seasons come from Mithruin, the large island on the southern hemisphere that is the heart of Archontean empire, where the great river floods and creates fertile lands.
Imperial seasons are celebrated in spirit throughout the empire but often do not match up with local climates or traditions.
Season of the Inundation
Flooding season, where the great river floods for four seasons, from Thoth-Lyan.
Season of the Emergence
Planting season, from Heschius Ban-Aranyania, with the Imperial Festival in the middle.
Season of the Harvest
Harvest! From Ellion-Ennius. Ends with the Birthdays of the Gods.

Months are each 30 days, with 2 intercalary periods every 6 months.

Notes
The 'old' gods of the Archontean empire are mostly ancient egypitan dieties, so I also based The months and seasons from the wikipedia articles on the ancient egytpian and coptic calendars.
The days of the week are from book, I didn't write those.
I kept the theme of months where I could, but some refered to gods that aren't in the setting, so I moved those to the 'current' Archontean major and minor dieties at my pleasure.
I also wanted the seasons to not make sense in the imperial colonies (where the Halls of Arden Vul takes place), so I set Mithruin on the southern hemisphere and kept the old Egyptian seasons the same. Also flood-based farming is fun.
I'll be editing this down the line with dates for festivals and holidays and such, plus fleshing out the intercalary periods, which will be 6 day long festivals. The second intercalary period is inspired from an egypitan one that wikipedia listed as 'spiritually dangerous' which is rad as hell and will definitely be kept.
Lyan is named after the class from this supplement. Lyan is the month in-game where we started and when we had our first character death of the same class, so this month is named in honor of our first fallen hero.
A few of these months might be renamed (Aranyania and Ellion)
I would also love to write the Thorcin calendars and other calendars mentioned in the setting, but those are low priority right now.
